TOM GEHRIG

Transient Light

Susan Woltz Gallery is pleased to once again exhibit the surrealist, interpretive oil paintings of Tom Gehrig.

Transient Light refers to various light phenomena taking place in the universe. This can include short-lived events on the lunar surface, or simply the movement of fog rendering objects indistinct.

The new work is part of an on-going series called "Replicas and Temporary Monuments". Using the landscape merely as a backdrop or "stage", the props or objects in the pieces are both theatrical and formal, expressing a temporal existence".
